About Rod Marshall

Ed. S., LPC, NCC, RPT-S, BCPCC is the Director of Counseling for the Alabama Baptist Children's Homes & Family Ministries. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, a Registered Play Therapist and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor. Rod has been working in the mental health field for over fifteen years and has worked in diverse settings, including hospitals, residential treatment settings, community mental health agencies, therapeutic foster care, and private practice. For most of the past decade, Rod has specialized in working with children and families.

Rod is an adjunct instructor in the counselor education program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham . Rod has been with the Alabama Baptist Children's Homes for over a decade. Rod has been married since 1988 and is the proud father of a seventeen-year-old daughter and a fifteen-year-old son. Rod is an engaging and informative speaker who has presented on diverse topics related to mental health, families and children throughout Alabama, the Southeast and in Europe and whose laid back style and sense of humor keep him in frequent demand at conferences and workshops.
