Dennis is a licensed professional counselor, Christian educator, and community volunteer. He served as the founding coordinator of Leadership Vestavia Hills from 1996-2001 and served on the Board of Directors from 1997-2002. He was recognized as the 1997 Citizen of the Year in Vestavia Hills.
Dennis has served as a trustee of the Vestavia Hills Public Library and is active in the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as the President of the Central Alabama chapter of the National Association of Church Business Administration.
He also has involvement with Manos Amigas, a Mexican-American non-profit organization, responsible for building the Centro de Esperanza (“Center of Hope”) in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, which provides a church, a community facility, a playground, and a basketball court in Siglo XXI, one of the poorest areas of western Mexico.

Andy was an intern at VHBC during college and at Bon Air Baptist Church in Richmond, VA, during seminary. He’s also worked as a Camp Pastor for children’s camps and served for a year with Impact Alabama.

Gary has served as pastor of VHBC since 1993 and before that was a pastor in churches in Georgia and Texas. He is a popular speaker and conference leader and is a published author. He has served as an adjunct professor at Samford University and Beeson Divinity School and graduated from Baylor University with his Ph.D. in theology.

Prior to coming to Vestavia Hills, Terre was Conductor-in-Residence for Midamerica Productions in New York, and Music Director of the New Jersey Choral Society. Dr. Johnson’s ten concerts in Carnegie Hall have met with critical success. In 2004 the New York Times lauded the “robust choral sound” his chorus produced in a concert which featured soprano Angela Brown, and was narrated by Olympia Dukakis. In 2006 he served as Guest Conductor and Assistant Artistic Director for the Voices in the House Festival in the Sydney Opera House, and held a similar position in the International Haydn Festival 2009 in Vienna, and in the International Festival of the Aegean in Greece in 2010.
Terre served as Minister of Music of the First Baptist Church of Dothan, Alabama from 1990-1999, and as Director of Choral Activities at Troy University from 1999-2001. He is founder and Music Director of the Southeastern Chamber Orchestra. In recent years he has conducted three opera productions for Samford University, conducted and co-written two music theatre productions at Troy University, and conducted two concerts with the Huxford Symphony Orchestra of the University of Alabama. Terre has also served as National Chair for Music in Worship for the 20,000 members of the American Choral Directors Association.
