Shillong Letter Exchange is underway
Last month we began highlighting one of the ministries supported by our Unified Missions Offering or UMO. Awon Shanglai, a former VHBC member, serves in Shillong, India. Awon opens her home to provide housing and support to students from surrounding rural villages who are in the city of Shillong for education. Awon currently hosts 16 high school and college-aged students, supporting them in their studies as well as in their Christian discipleship.
During our September 10 worship emphasis on Awon’s ministry, you gave $1,306 toward the expenses for students living expenses and to equip a study room at Awon’s home with desks and books.
If you missed worship on September 10 and would like to make a contribution, please send or bring your gift to the church office payable to VHBC and marked “UMO.”
Our Shillong letter-writing exchange is off to a great start. Your first letters are due now to the church office.
